Art of Richard E. Faulkner

For as long as I can remember, I have had an interest in drawing and painting. Although my career path led me to banking for over 36 years, I pursued my artwork in my spare time. I discovered pastels in the early seventies and began to specialize in children’s portraits and florals. A few years later, I tried my hand at watercolor, which has become my primary medium. I’ve also painted with acrylics and gouache and have found that they also work well with transparent watercolors. Although I consider myself self-taught, I have attended several painting classes and workshops. I’ve studied with artists such as Daniel Greene, John Howard Sanden, Robert Frank, Jerry Baum, Bill Updagraff and Jules Bouillet.

Now retired from banking, I am a member of the Northwest Territory Art Guild in Vincennes Indiana and I have exhibited, sold and received awards in numerous juried art shows. Recently I’ve had my watercolor paintings reproduced into prints and notecards which are also available in gift shops and art fairs in southern Indiana and Illinois. Songbird Notecards

These beautiful songbird notecards are printed from original watercolor paintings by Richard Faulkner. Each card measures 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inches and is blank on the inside for personal messages. The set of six notecards features a wren, cardinal, tufted titmouse, chickadee, goldfinch and bluebird. The cards and envelopes are packaged in a clear plastic box.
